A key requirement for the railway industry is determining how to optimise their infrastructure to fulfil the demands for operational reliability whilst at the same time keeping maintenance costs down. Therefore, government, stakeholders and suppliers must work together to ensure programme and budget requirements are met.

Our judges will be looking for any renewals or upgrade project which meets these criteria. This can include signalling, telecommunications, permanent way, catenary systems and power supply, earthworks and drainage, embankments and cuttings, level crossing and environmental services.
