Sheena Hague
Sheena is the Deputy Director of Network Management for the Welsh Government, responsible for working with the bus industry, the management of the strategic trunk road and motorway network, and current rail franchise within the Economic Infrastructure Department. Her role involves the governance and accountability for transport networks to enable business, support the economy and Welsh way of life.
Sheena is a chartered civil engineer with many years of experience in managing transport networks. She has a track record of leading large multi-disciplinary teams on transportation projects with a strong emphasis on the customer. She has undertaken substantial design and engineering work on transport networks, asset management, business improvement initiatives and daily management of strategic transport networks and control centres.
Over the past 20 years, Sheena has worked for local government, consultants Atkins and Mott MacDonald and in joint ventures with contractors Balfour Beatty and Skanska. Sheena has worked on various types of transport contracts using prescriptive specifications to the latest outcome based contracts where the risk is transferred to the best party to accept it. The continuing government budget pressures and the need for ever increasing levels of customer service means that new approaches are always being investigated.
