Colin Deuchars

Colin joined the Rail business in 2018 and was involved in the successful delivery of CP6 Track Alliance bid, followed by a period of time as Track Director. His focus is currently on leading Rail through a Transformation programme demanded by changing market dynamics and commercial imperatives. He enjoys chasing new business in new markets, especially harnessing new technologies.

Colin has Divisional MD experience in the Defence, Security, and Logistics sectors with a successful record of leading significant performance improvement and culture change in large PLCs. Colin has led business transformations, such as the rationalisation of the Supply Chain for a major Tyco division and restructured the strategic delivery models for the UK division of the world’s largest high security logistics business. He has Private Equity funding experience having led a defence related MBO.

He has been with Babcock for 11 years, led the Defence Divisional integration activity post Babcock’s acquisition of VT and has been a Programmes and Business Development Director in both the Air and Land sectors. Colin served for 8 years as an officer in the Royal Engineers and 15 years in the Reserves. He used to run and cycle, but now just talks about it a lot and plays the bagpipes occasionally.
