Kevin Thomas

Having begun his rail career in 1998 as a Signalling & Telecoms engineer with GTRM (Carillion), Kevin has since held various roles in the rail industry.

Most recently in January 2018, Kevin was named Chief Operating Officer for Keolis UK where he was responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient delivery of three operating contracts (Nottingham Tram, Docklands Light Railway and Manchester Metrolink) whilst supporting the negotiation and mobilisation of the Wales & Borders contract.

Now Chief Executive Officer of KeolisAmey Wales, Kevin is responsible for the leadership and governance of a 15-year, £5 billion contract with Transport for Wales. This includes the integration of train operations, infrastructure management and projects. His team is working in collaboration with Transport for Wales and Welsh Government to transform the railway in Wales and the Border areas; introducing new trains, employment opportunities and developing a new vertically integrated, electrified metro operation; transforming the service offering to support improved mobility and connectivity for all.
